BANGALORE: Veteran actor Rajkumar (78), who was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital and Heart Institute on Monday, has fully recovered and will be discharged on Friday, doctors said. The matinee idol's personal physician, Ramana Rao, said that following the improvement in the actor's health condition, doctors have stopped administering intramuscular and intravenous medicines. "He is back from a difficult situation and in a very happy frame of mind," he said at a press conference. Mr. Rajkumar was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning following complaints of severe chest pain and sweating. He had lung congestion and bronchial allergy.
`Overall improvement'
K.S. Satish, chest physician, said he has recovered completely recovered and there is an overall improvement in the other health aspects. Mr. Rajkumar's son, Raghavendra, said his father was under a lot of stress following the death of his (the veteran actor's) elder brother, S.P. Vardaraj, who helped shape his career. The thespian's sister was ill, and she recently underwent angioplasty. Mr. Raghavendra said many people are worried about Mr. Rajkumar's health as he has been admitted to hospital twice this year, including once in January for neurological problems. But he has now recovered completely, Mr. Raghavendra said. Interventional cardiologist P. Ranganath Nayak said Mr. Rajkumar's health will be monitored even after his discharge from hospital.
