Bar DMK MLA from contesting polls

Pondicherry: Pondicherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam secretary, A. Anbalagan MLA, has urged the Election Commission to intervene immediately and debar R.V. Janakiraman MLA, convener of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, from contesting the Assembly election in view of a case filed against him and his party volunteers in connection with an incident at an Office of Returning Officer here on Tuesday.

Mr. Anbalagan told newsmen here on Tuesday that Mr. Janakiraman along with his party volunteers had "barged into the room of the officer and had heated arguments

to protest the deletion

and non inclusion of

a number of voters of the Nellithope Assembly constituency."
