MITAFEST starts on Friday

CHENNAI: `MITAFEST 2006', the annual cultural festival at the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, is starting on Friday.

The three-day cultural fiesta promises to host a range of events in arts, music and dance.

As this year promises a whopping Rs.1.2 lakh in prize money, the organisers hope to raise the bar in terms of quality of the program content.

The highlight of this year's event is the staging of a comedy play by Crazy Creations. The other big events are the inter-college light music and variety entertainment shows, in which 50 institutions in and around Chennai are expected to showcase their talent.
