Court nod for filling Group-I posts

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court on Thursday gave a final judgment in the writ petition pertaining to Group-I posts in the State and permitted the APPSC to go ahead with the process of filling the posts.

The Bench, comprising Justice J. Chalameshwar and Justice M.E.N. Pathrudu, dismissed the writ petition and declared that there was not enough material to show that question papers of some of the subjects had been leaked.

The Bench said that the decision of the Government to have 61 marks as the cut-off point to decide the eligibility for mains examination was legal and valid. It further said that the upper age limit was to be reckoned with July 1, 1999. Candidates should have secured the minimum qualification by July 2004. The two decisions of the Government were also upheld.
