Ravindran Award announced

KOCHI: Music composer M.K. Arjunan will be presented the first Ravindran Award, instituted in memory of music composer Ravindran.

The award is being conferred on Arjunan for his contribution to light music, theatre and film music genres.

The award, which carries a purse of Rs.10,001, citation and a statuette, will be presented at a function at Town Hall on April 8. This will be followed by Ravindran musical nite.

The award has been instituted by the newly formed Ravindran Music Foundation.

The foundation was formed to promote young talents and to set up a music school.
