`Consider displacement issue compassionately'

Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari said on Thursday that resettlement and rehabilitation were serious issues and asked the State Government to compassionately address to the people's fear over losing land to investors.

Namdhari became serious when Independent MLA Bandhu Tirkey raised the displacement issue and Janata Dal(U) MLA Radhakrishna Kishore sought to know why the BJP-led NDA government failed to firm up a policy on rehabilitation and resettlement.

Senior BJP MLA Saryu Rai requested the Speaker for a direction on an all-party meeting to ponder over the displacement issue. -- PTI
