Bangalore Gayana Samaja to honour Ravishankar

THE BANGALORE Gayana Samaja, which has completed 100 years of promoting classical arts without regional boundaries, has patrons all over India.

It is now arranging the centenary celebrations in major cities beyond Bangalore, as announced last year by its president H. Kamalnath.

This Sunday there will be an event in New Delhi's Kamani auditorium with sitar maestro Pandit Ravishankar being conferred the Gayana Samaja Centenary Award. Maharashtra Governor S.M. Krishna will present the award.

Incidentally, as the Chief Minister of Karnataka he had flagged off the centenary celebrations here.
