BANGALORE: A welder was killed and six others were injured when iron beams supporting the ceiling collapsed on them at a building under construction in Hebbugodi police station limits on Wednesday evening. The police said the incident occurred around 4.30 p.m. when the construction workers were fixing iron beams at the building in Bommasandra industrial area. Seven labourers, who came under the girders, suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital. One of them, Mohammed Ali (47) of Kerala, a welder, died of injuries. The condition of the other labourers is stable, the police said. The Hebbugodi police have registered a case.
Killed in accident
Vinod Yadhav (45) was killed after a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus hit him in Bannerghatta police station limits on Thursday. The police said the accident occurred around 8.15 a.m. on Santhe Beedi in Jigani while Yadhav was crossing the road. Yadhav, a native of Bihar, was employed in a factory in Jigani industrial area. The Bannerghatta police have registered a case.
