BANGALORE: Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar, who was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital and Heart Institute on Monday after he complained of chest pain, was discharged from the hospital on Friday. Standing on the balcony of the fist floor of the hospital at noon, a relaxed and cheerful Mr. Rajkumar greeted waiting presspersons and the small group of fans with a handshake. The 78-year-old actor was accompanied by his wife, Parvathamma, and a panel of doctors including his personal physician, Ramana Rao, interventional cardiologist P. Ranganath Nayak and chest physician K.S. Satish. "I have fully recovered now," the actor told his fans, standing at the balcony, and then thanked the doctors who attended on him. To shouts of "Dr. Rajkumar ki jai," he said he did not mind falling ill once in a while since it gave him a chance to come out and meet his fans. "I came here to get healthy, and I am going home now. I am also happy that I got a chance to meet all of you," he said. On his way to his waiting Mercedes, Mr. Rajkumar picked up the cap that had slipped from the head of a security guard who was trying to keep the actor's fans at bay, and wore it jauntily. After smiling at the guard and exchanging a few pleasantries, he returned the cap. An actor always. Dr. Nayak said that all vital parameters of the actor are good and the team of doctors will be monitoring his condition closely.
