CPI (M) MP demands apology from Chappell
New Delhi:
The issue of Indian cricket coach Greg Chappell's controversial remarks against former captain Sourav Ganguly in a foreign journal was raised in the Lok Sabha during zero hour on Friday.
CPI(M) member Minoti Sen from West Bengal demanded an apology from Mr. Chappell.
Mr. Sen said that if Mr. Chappell failed to apologise for the comments he made about Ganguly in the British newspaper Guardian, the BCCI should terminate his contract and ask him to leave the country.
Mr. Chappell had alleged in the interview that Ganguly clung to captaincy for personal and financial reasons.
Mr. Sen said the remarks against India's most successful captain were in ``bad taste'' and crossed all limits of decency. PTI
