Poll code enforcement led to his return

KOLLAM: Two days after he handed over charge to Raju Narayanaswamy as District Collector, B. Sreenivas is back here, again as the collector.

Mr. Sreenivas was posted as Director of the Scheduled Castes Department. It was on March 1 that Mr. Narayanaswamy took over as the District Collector from Mr. Sreenivas. The latter was also given a touching send-off by the civil station staff on that day.

But following the declaration of elections on March 1 and the coming into effect of the Model Code of Conduct, the Election Commission raised objections to transfer and directed the Government to post Mr. Sreenivas back as the Kollam collector. Mr. Sreenivas will formally assume charge on Saturday.
