KOCHI:
Leading jewellery group Joy Alukkas has won the prestigious Middle East Local Retailer of the Year award for 2005. The award is for store layout, trading standards, department management, customer service and social commitment, says a press release.
Joy Alukka, chairman of the group, said that it was the consistent maintenance of quality of goods sold and customer care that enabled the group to win the award.
The group has already got the ISO certification, he pointed out.
It was in 1987 that the first showroom of the group was opened in Abu Dhabi.
It has more than 50 outlets in this country and aims to reach 100 by 2008, Mr. Alukka said.
