Houses adjourned till March 16

BANGALORE: The six-day session of the Legislature was adjourned on Friday till March 16 when the budget session is scheduled to start.

The Appropriation Bill (2006), which was defeated in the Legislative Council, was adopted by the Legislative Assembly in the closing minutes of the day. Not a single major debate took place in the session. The Congress, which boycotted the Governor's address by staging a walk-out on February 24, maintained the same posture and refused to fall in line to the pleas of the ruling party.
