Ombudsman's order set aside

Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Friday set aside the order of the former Ombudsman for Local Self-Government Institutions directing the former Kochi Mayor C.M. Di nesh Mani to appear in person before the Ombudsman and directing him to show cause why he should not be made liable for the maladministration of the Corporation. The Bench comprising Chief Justice V.K. Bali and Justice J.B. Koshy set aside the order in view of the fact that the terms of the former Mayor and the Ombudsman were over. — Staff Reporter

Traffic regulations

KOCHI: Traffic will be regulated in the city in view of the Congress meeting to be held on Saturday. Parking has been banned along Sahodaran Ayappan Road, M.G. Road, Park Avenue Road, Shanmugham Road, Foreshore Road, Banerjee Road, Kaloor-Palarivattom Road, Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road, Bypass Road and Seaport-Airport Road. The police said that there would be traffic congestion in the city on Saturday. — Staff Reporter

Language seminar

Kochi: A national official language seminar on livelihood issues in fisheries and aquaculture was organised at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute on Friday. Minnie Mathew, chairperson, Coconut Development Board, inaugurated the seminar. Mohan Joseph Modayil, director of the Institute, presided. R. Sathidas welcomed the gathering and P.J. `Cancel transfer orders'

Kochi: The Kerala NGO Association demanded the cancellation of transfer orders of 13 employees of the Registration Department following the announcement of the Assembly election. As the transfers were in violation of the model code of conduct, the District Collector should cancel the orders, said association district president P.V. Shyamaprasad and treasurer P.M.
