Nanavati panel sitting adjourned

AHMEDABAD: The sitting of the G. T. Nanavati and the K. G. Shah judicial inquiry commission, probing the Godhra train carnage and the post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat, was on Saturday adjourned till March 13 after the State Government sought yet another extension for submitting its report on the analysis of a compact disc carrying mobile phone numbers of the calls made on February 28, 2002, when a large number of Muslims were butchered and burnt alive.

The Government has also sought time for submitting relevant documents, including the statements made by Chief Minister Narendra Modi and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders and others on the carnage and other relevant papers.

It was the second time that the State Government has sought extension of the time for submitting the documents .
