LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today ruled out early Assembly elections in the state ``despite a disinformation campaign mounted by the Congress''. Addressing a gathering of newly-elected Block Pramukhs here, Yadav said the elections to the state assembly would take place as per schedule. ``The government is going strong despite a disinformation campaign being launched by Congress projecting the ruling coalition losing grounds.'' He alleged that whenever the Congress came to power at the Centre, it tried to destabilise non-Congress governments in states. The Samajwadi Party Chief claimed his party was not afraid of polls and was ready to take on any political rival. Referring to a book authored by a former Intelligence Bureau joint director, Mr Yadav said efforts were on to project him as an ISI agent. - UNI
