Water supply at low pressure

NEW DELHI: Because of repair work, water supply will be available at low pressure on Monday evening at Matia Mahal, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Darya Ganj, Chawri Bazar, Pahari Bhojala, Ballimaran, Sita Ram Bazar, Shradha Nand Marg, Minto Road, LNJP Hospital, Dariba, Nai Sadak, Fateh Puri, Old Delhi Railway Station, Ajmeri Gate and Ramlila Grounds.

Water supply will also be affected on Monday evening at Saket, Malviya Nagar, Defence Colony, Andrews Ganj, South Extension I and II, Chiragh Dilli and Kalkaji Janata Flats.

Due to flushing of underground reservoir, water supply will also be affected on Monday at Hastsal Village, 332 LIG Flat Rajouri Garden.

Water tankers will be available on telephone: 29814106 (Jal Sadan), 26414647 (Greater Kailash) and 23370911 (I.P. Pumping Station).

Agreement for power projects

NEW DELHI: The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) has signed agreements with the Sikkim Government for execution of the 495 MW Teesta Stage-IV and 210 MW Lachen Hydroelectric Projects in the State.

According to an NHPC release here, the agreements were signed in Gangtok by Principal Chief Engineer-cum-Secretary, Energy and Power Department, D. D. Pradhan, and NHPC Chairman and Managing Director, S. K. Garg, in the presence of Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling.

NHPC has already commissioned a 60 MW Rangit Power Station in Sikkim from where power is being supplied to Sikkim, West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar.

National Federation of Polytechnic Teachers

NEW DELHI: A meeting of the Polytechnic Teachers' Associations from across the country was held at Pusa Campus here this past week.

On the occasion, the National Federation of Polytechnic Teachers (NFPT) was constituted. Dr. Mahendra Ingale was elected president and B. Gokari vice-president. The main objective of the federation is to provide a common platform to polytechnic teachers at the national level for uplift of the technical education system.

Medical tourism

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant-Governor B. L. Joshi has described Delhi as a booming new destination for medical tourism.

Inaugurating the Delhi ENT Hospital and Research Centre here over the weekend, he said costly medical equipment and other diagnostic and treatment facilities in sophisticated health care services remain beyond the reach of many patients with moderate means. "It will be a welcome step if charitable organisation come forward to offer affordable health care treatment to the common man."
