GUNTUR: Guntur district Telugu Desam Party leaders picketed the District Collector's bungalow here on Saturday afternoon for four hours protesting against the deletion of names of some 1.5 lakh people from the voters' lists. The TDP delegation led by former Health Minister Kodela Siva Prasada Rao and Social Welfare Minister J.R. Pushparaj sat in front of the main gate of District Collector's bungalow from 8 a.m. forcing the Collector G. Jayalakshmi to invite them for talks. Lone TDP MLA from Guntur district Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar said that the party had prepared a list of 1.5 lakh people whose names were deleted though they were living in the same place for the many years and demanded thorough inquiry into the alleged deliberate deletion of names. The MLA alleged that all of them were TDP workers and sympathisers, hence their names were deleted without following rules. He wanted action initiated against the officials responsible.
