Special buses for women

The APSRTC City region has announced the introduction of two ladies special buses from March 8 on the occasion of International Women's Day.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the two new services will ply on the routes Patancheru- Koti via Ashoknagar and Secunderabad - Mehdipatnam. The service will start from Patancheru at 8.50 a.m. and from Koti at 5.15 p.m. while the other one starts from Secunderabad at 9.22 a.m. and from Mehdipatnam at 5.10 p.m.

English language teaching centre

The English Language Teaching Centre, Nizam College, will organise courses for beginners with emphasis on pronunciation/communication from March 8.

The fee for 50 session- each two hour duration- course is Rs.600, according to a release. For details, contact Director, ELTC.

Awardee felicitated

G. Lavanam, who received the Mahatma Gandhi national award of Manikyalal Bukaridas Gandhi Memorial Trust at Nagpur on Thursday, was felicitated by Gandhian organisations here on Saturday.

Mr. Lavanam said a mix of Gandhian and Maoist philosophies was required for the modern world. C.V. Chari, President, AP Handicrafts Welfare Society, and G.V. Subba Rao, President, AP Sarvodaya Mandali, spoke.
