Upgrade healthcare system: Anand

NEW DELHI: The state of healthcare system is appalling and the public and private sectors should act together to bring healthcare facilities to the common man, National Human Rights Commission chairperson Justice A. S. Anand said on Saturday.

Constitutional obligation

At a meeting held here to review the recommendations of the Commission's core group on health, he said the state could not renege on its constitutional obligation of providing healthcare citing financial constraints.
