dated March 6, 1956: President of Pakistan

The Pakistan Constituent Assembly on March 5 unanimously elected Governor-General Iskander Mirza as the country's provisional President under its new Constitution. When the House assembled to conduct the Presidential election as provided for in the new Constitution, Speaker Abdul Wahab announced that 50 nominations had been received and they were all in favour of Major-General Iskander Mirza. He was, therefore, declaring Major-General Mirza elected provisional President.
