KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan has appointed former star striker Biswajit Bhattacharya as the first team's new coach. Bhattacharya became the club's third coach this season after short stints by Amal Dutta and Jahar Das, who was in charge of the team in the first seven rounds of the NFL. Bhattacharya was roped in as Das had to be rushed back to his original job as chief coach of the Mohun Bagan Academy, where the under-15 team is preparing for a National meet. According to club officials, Bhattacharya has been contracted till the end of the NFL. The former international was drafted in following his success with Mohammedan Sporting last season. He had helped the city team top NFL's second division and regain its slot in the elite division of the premier club tournament. Sports Reporter
