GUNTUR: Guntur Zilla Parishad general body meeting on Sunday witnessed some acrimonious scenes with the Telugu Desam Party and Congress leaders fiercely blaming each other for the deletion of names from the voters' lists in several Assembly constituencies. A meeting got up to discuss and review the development works turned out to be a political debate on deletion of names from the voters' lists as TDP Mandal Presidents and ZPTCs tried to take advantage of the forum with their party chairman Pathuri Nagabhushanam in chair. Peeved by the claims in the media that Congress leaders had forced the officials to delete names organising picketing of the Collector's Bungalow, two Congress MPs and several MLAs took strong objection to TDP claims and asked officials to call for individual claims/objections from those who did not have their votes. All the Congress MLAs and MPs later met the District Collector G. Jayalakshmi at her camp office.
