Scholarships for meritorious poor

GUNTUR: Guntur-based Society for Rural Scholars proposes to provide free education to 25 school students from the coming academic session by selecting five each in classes 6 to 10 through a written test and interview. Society directors Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Chukkapalli Ramesh and Yesuratnam told reporters that a test would be conducted on Sunday next for the poor students from rural areas. They would be tested in English, Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

The society would sponsor entire cost of studies till their post-graduation and during the school days they would be admitted in `Indian Springs' schools in Guntur and provided free boarding, books and uniform.

The desirous students could apply on or before Wednesday over Internet at www.indiansprings.in or contact the school over phone No. 0863-2357788 or 9866304313.
