Vijaya Bank wins trophy

MANGALORE: Vijaya Bank, Bangalore, riding on man-of-the match Guruprasad's fine bowling (four for 49), crushed Hubli Sports Club in the final of the Challengers Trophy cricket tournament here on Sunday. Chasing 227, HSC was bundled out for 119.

The scores: Vijaya Bank 226 in 36.5 overs (Shyam Ponnappa 84, P. Srivatsa 48, J. Hemant four for 34) beat Hubli SC 119 in 24.2 overs (Guruprasad four for 49). — Staff Reporter
