Over 14 lakh students are appearing for the examination

  • Three sets of question papers despatched
  • Control room set up to monitor conduct of exam

HYDERABAD: The Intermediate examination will get under way on Monday in 1,869 centres across the State and officials have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination. The second language examination of the first year will be held on the first day, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The BIE has already despatched three sets of question papers for each examination. The question paper to be used will be decided by taking a draw at 6 a.m. and notified using the police communication network and television channels. The examination authorities would also be informed though mobiles.

    Foolproof measures

BIE Secretary R.P. Sisodia told The Hindu that high-power committees in each district headed by the Collector would take decisions to curb malpractice. Jumbling system adopted for allotment of centres had virtually ruled out malpractice by the managements. Additional measures had been taken to contain malpractice at identified centres including video coverage of the examination. He said the RTC authorities had been asked to ply buses from 5 a.m. from places that are far off.

The BIE has also set up a control room with telephone number 24601010 and 24655027 (fax) to monitor the conduct of the examination. A videoconference would also be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily to assess the situation and take action accordingly. This year 14,50,621 students are taking the examination of which 5,58,571 are second year regulars and 1,92,748 are second year private candidates. Another 6,28,628 first year students will also appear for the examination.
