Group-I interview list in a day or two

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD : The interview list of successful candidates of Group-I examinations is likely to be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday though the meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is scheduled on Monday to discuss the issue. The path for announcing the interview list was cleared by the High Court that ruled out enhancing the cut-off marks to 66 from the original 61 in its judgment last week.

Officials said the picture was clear about the 540 vacant posts but they would wait for the roaster of 24 new posts before finalising the list. "We are pursuing the matter with the Government and the roaster is likely to come by Tuesday," APPSC Chairman Y. Venkatrami Reddy told The Hindu . The interviews would be called in the ratio of 1:2.

Prof. Reddy felt the entire procedure of conducting interviews and recruitment could be completed within a month if there were no more legal problems.

Meanwhile, it is said that 21,000-odd candidates who lost an opportunity to be considered for interviews with the High Court judgment are reportedly planning to move the Supreme Court.
