RAMANATHAPURAM: Though the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has kept its door open for more alliance partners, the Bharatiya Janata Party has not received any invitation, according to Venkaiah Naidu, BJP's national vice-president. He was speaking to reporters here after visiting various parts of the district on Sunday along with S. Thirunavukarasar, MP, as a part of "People Darshan" programme. He said the BJP would not wait for an invitation. Following the recent political developments in Tamil Nadu, the BJP called for a high-level meeting of district presidents and leaders in Chennai for Monday and Tuesday. The party's earlier stand to go it alone in the elections would be reviewed and a final stand on the alliance would be announced after the meeting. Mr. Naidu said the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's alliance with the AIADMK had demoralised the Democratic Progressive Alliance. "Definitely, it is a setback to the DMK-led alliance. Till Saturday, the alliance was looking good," Mr. Naidu said.
