TIRUPATI: The Tirupati Tamil Sangham has hailed the decision of the Tirupati Municipality to take over the primary as well as the high schools, which it had been running since their inception here over two decades ago. The association in a statement said that the municipality would be taking over the schools with effect from April this year and meet all its expenses including the salaries of the teachers. The association also requested that the Government or the TTD could come forward to upgrade the school to the level of a junior college as a next step for the benefit of the wards of the 40,000 strong Tamil population living in the temple town.
