Urology society holds meet

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Urinary incontinence (involuntary loss of urine) is common among women in the country. But, unlike in the West, seldom do they seek help. This was because they don't know whom to turn to and feel embarrassed about the problem due to lack of awareness. Most urologists and gynaecologists are not able to treat the problem due to lack of proper training. A two-day "international video workshop and cadaver hands-on dissection for female urinary incontinence and pelvic floor reconstruction," the first such private-government effort to train doctors, was held here at the Osmania Medical College.

The workshop was organised by the Hyderabad Urology Society and Asia-Oceanic Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
