Award

G.S. Mohan, professor and chairman of the Post Graduate Department of Telugu, Bangalore University, has been awarded the Central Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize for 2005. He had translated "Sanna Kathegalu" of the renowned Kannada litterateur, Masti Venkatesa Iyengar, into Telugu. Dr. Mohan has authored more than 32 books in Telugu, Kannada and English.

Takes over

Air Marshal S. Radhakrishnan has taken over as the Senior Air Staff Officer of the Air Force Training Command. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in June 1970 in the fighter stream. He has over 4,000 hours of flying on a variety of combat and trainer aircraft.

Workshop

Shree Ramana Maharshi Academy for the Blind will organise a two-day workshop on "Human Resource Development and the role of Rehabilitation Council of India" from March 8 on the academy premises at 3rd Phase, J.P. Nagar. Government and non-government organisations are expected to participate.
