CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over south interior Karnataka, at a few places over Kerala and isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Kanakapura (Bangalore urban dt) and Veeraghatam (Srikakulam dt) 6 each, Bangalore, Hassan and Nelamangala (Bangalore urban dt) 5 each, Mysore 4, Bagamandala and Virajpet (both Kodagu dt) 3 each, Kottayam, Kollam and Ananthapur 2 each and Hosur and Thali (both Krishnagiri dt), Alapuzha, Thiruvananthapuram Madikeri, Bangalore Airport, Bantwal (Dakshina Kannada), Somwarpet (Kodagu dt), Pavagada (Tumkur dt) and Chennapatna (Bangalore Rural dt) 1 each.

Belgaum Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Telangana and north interior and coastal Karnataka.
