GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat High Court on Monday issued an order restraining the Central Government from taking any action on the report of the U. C. Banerjee Commission on Godhra train fire incident till March 8. Haring a miscellaneous application filed by the petitioner, Neelkanth Bhatia, on the Commission making its report public despite a stay by the High Court, Justice M. R. Shah, restrained the Union Government from giving "any further effect to the report in any manner whatsoever" till March 8. The High Court is expected to deliver its judgment tomorrow [on Tuesday] on the original petition of Mr. Bhatia filed on October 21, 2004, questioning the legality of the constitution of the commission when another commission, G. T. Nanavati- K. G. Shah judicial inquiry commission, was already seized of the matter. Minister of State for Home Amit Shah told the State Assembly that the police had concrete evidence to prove that the fire in the Sabarmati Express was an "act of pre-planned conspiracy." The Assembly witnessed pandemonium for some time leading to the walkout by the Opposition barring Nimaben Acharya (Congress), as Speaker Mangaldas Patel rejected a point of order raised by the Leader of the Opposition, Arjun Modhvadia, objecting to Mr. Amit Shah making a statement on the train incident.
