JAIPUR: A two-day mime theatre festival featuring actors from all over the country will begin here on Tuesday, exposing the theatre lovers of the Pink City to the art of using only facial expressions and gestures to act an entire play for the first time.

The festival, in which 36 members of seven teams from various cities are participating, will be organised at the Rangayan Auditorium in Jawahar Kala Kendra here. The co-organisers of the event are the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi and West Zone Cultural Centre. The Director General of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Ashok Shekhar, said here on Monday that a workshop of mime artistes would be held at the venue on both the days. It will be directed by the noted mime expert, Niranjan Goswami.

The participants will prepare and practise brief presentations and perform before the audience in the evening. The theatre artistes of Jaipur have been invited to take part in the workshop.
