AIMPLB delegation meets Prince of Arcot

The team exchanges views on issues relating to Islamic Shariah

CHENNAI: A delegation of Islamic scholars and Ulemas from the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and Muslim intellectuals from different walks of life called on the Prince of Arcot, Mohammed Abdul Ali, here on Sunday.

Led by Maulana Mohamed Rabey Hasani Nadwi, Chairman, AIMPLB, the team members exchanged views on issues relating to Islamic Shariah and its application in day-to-day affairs. They also expressed their solidarity in nation-building and the continued role of the Muslim community in promoting the spirit of secularism. The Nawab urged the authorities on Islamic law to educate the community and others on the true message of Islam.

The Chief Khazi to Tamil Nadu Government, Mufti Salahuddin Mohamed Ayub, Government Chief Shia Khazi, Maulana Ghulam Mohamed Mehdi Khan, and Imams and Khateebs of various mosques were among those present on the occasion, according to a press release.
