Business Line Club set up in Annamalai University

    CUDDALORE: Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University L.B. Venkatrangan inaugurated the "Business Line Club," sponsored by The Hindu Business Line on the varsity campus at Chidambaram on Tuesday.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkatrangan said he was pleased to inaugurate the Club, as it would enable the students to have close interaction with the industry and business to hone their skills and mould their personality.

    He noted that the university had a long-standing relationship with The Hindu , which always gave prominence to the university news and advertisements. The starting of the Club would further strengthen their partnership, he noted.

    Mr. Venkatrangan hailed the move to set up the Club as a significant contribution of The Hindu to the nation and welcomed the gesture. The Club would periodically organise seminars and workshops inviting captains of industry and successful businessmen.

    The Club would provide a forum for the students to have free interaction with those who had made a mark in their respective fields and to get a cue from their success.

    The Vice-Chancellor said The Hindu Business Line got every thing, as it covered all areas such as information technology, economy, market trend, commodity, business, banking and world events. B. Palaniappan, Dean of Engineering Faculty, said both elders and youths were avid readers of the The Hindu publications.

    A. Sambandam, former Senate member and leading advocate, said what was happening in the field of economy of vital interest to all, and The Hindu Business Line was giving an elaborate account on the established as well as the upcoming companies.

    K. Chandrasekar, Assistant Regional Manager, The Hindu , Tiruchi, said the newspaper packed with information, would enable the students to widen their knowledge base and hone their interactive skills so as to groom them to be employable. The Club would strive to improve the institution (students)-industry interface for mutual benefits, he said.

    N. Panchanathan, Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration, applauded the Club concept.
