Satellite City to be ready within 6 months

KADAPA: The 4,000-house Satellite City at Thollagangannapalle on the outskirts of Kadapa town will be ready within 6 months, Collector G. Asok Kumar said on Tuesday.

Forty-eight houses were being built in each of the 84 blocks while, five blocks were completed so far, he said after inspecting Satellite City.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy laid the foundation stone for the township on July 15 last year.

A school was also started to educate children of labourers engaged in work, he said. Work was temporarily affected due to lack of cement stocks last month , he said.

Familes being displaced by Buggavanka beautification works would be provided housing on a 2-acre site in the town, the Collector said.

Stating that qualitative work was in progress, he assured to arrange bus facility to Satellite City.

The Collector inspected ongoing work on the Rs. 45-lakh Punnami restaurant at Alamkhanpalle - which would be completed next month. He also inspected Buggavanka flood revetment wall construction at Balajinagar.

District Manager of Housing Selvaraj, Kadapa RDO Prabhakar Pillai and Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha were also present.
