Malayalappuzha temple festival begins today

PATHANAMTHITTA: The annual festival at the Malayalappuzha Devi Temple will be held from March 8 to 18, according to devaswom sources. Tantri Adimuttathu Sukumara Bhattathiri will hoist the ceremonial flag at the auspicious Kodiyettu ceremony to be held on the temple premises between 8.15 p.m. and 9.15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Travancore Devaswom Board member M.B. Sreekumar will inaugurate the newly constructed stage. Temple Advisory Committee (TAC) secretary V.S. Harishchandran; TDB chief engineer G. Rajagopal; executive engineer P.R. Chandramohan; and assistant devaswom commissioner P. Lalithabhai will address the meeting.

The Utsavabali ritual will be held at 2 p.m. from March 9. The Vilakkinezhnnellippu ceremony will be held at 9 p.m. March 13 to 16. The festival will conclude with the Arattu ceremony on March 18 evening.
