KOLLAM: A district-level UDF leadership meeting will be held at the DCC office here at 5 p.m. on March 8. DCC president Soornanad Rajashekaran will preside. UDF convener P.P. Kureepuzha pilgrimage from March 9

KOLLAM: The annual Kureepuzha pilgrimage in connection with the festival of Kureepuzha Saint Joseph's Church will be held from March 9 to 19. A Bible convention is also being organised in connection with the festival. The traditional social feast in connection with the festival will be held at 12 noon on March 19 following a pontifical high mass with Kollam Bishop Stanley Roman as the chief celebrant. — Staff Reporter

Puthiyakavu Pongala

KOLLAM: The annual pongala festival at Sri Puthiyakavu Bhagavathi Temple will commence at 10 a.m. on March 10. The temple committee expects more than a lakh devotees to take part in the ritual. All arrangements for the purpose have been completed. — Staff Reporter

Stale food seized

Thiruvananthapuram: The Health squad of the City Corporation on Tuesday carried out raids in 16 hotels in various parts of the city and seized stale foodstuff unfit for human consumption. The squad also initiated legal proceedings against the managements of the hotels. - Staff Reporter
