KARIMNAGAR: Dacoits struck terror on the busy Agraharam - Vemulawada temple shrine road on Monday night by attacking passengers travelling in a Tata Sumo and a car and decamped with gold worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 in cash. Police sources said that two unidentified armed dacoits felled a tree on the road, obstructed the Tata Sumo and threatened the inmates with their weapons and decamped with the gold ornaments.
Car stopped
Later, they stopped a car and snatched away gold and cash worth Rs 40,000 from the inmates. When the duo tried to attack the RTC bus, which was passing on the route, the crew and passengers raised an alarm. Sensing trouble, the dacoits escaped. Senior police officials visited the spot. It may be recalled that a similar kind of dacoity took place at the very same spot, a month ago, in this Vemulawada mandal.
