JAIPUR: A total of 46 roads of the length of 190.60 km were constructed at a cost of Rs. 16.55 crores in Jodhpur district under the fourth phase of the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and dedicated to the people at a function in the city on Sunday. The Deputy Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, Ramnarain Vishnoi, speaking on the occasion, said the new roads would link a large number of villages and benefit the rural populace. He said the PMGSY had been implemented in the State at a fast pace. Jaswant Singh Vishnoi, MP from Jodhpur, said the PMGSY had set the target of connecting all villages with a population of 500 or more in the desert and tribal-dominated areas by roads by 2007. He pointed out that the targets had been achieved in Jodhpur way ahead of the scheduled time-frame.
