MYSORE: Students from across the country are expected to participate in Technologix-06, a technology symposium being organised at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) from March 9 to 11. A release said the symposium is being organised by Computer Society of India - SJCE Student Chapter. It will witness active participation by industries too.
Bridging the gap
The symposium is aimed at exposing students to the real-world technical scenario and bridging the gap between the industry and the institute. It has received tremendous support from the industry, the release said. The organisers have introduced innovative events this time around and the sympisum is being backed by Nokia, ITC, IBM, TCS and Onmobile.
`Laksha'
In addition to the software and hardware contests, the symposium will feature "Laksha", a management case study; "Imagine", a real world software scenario; "Bugsy," a software design contest; "Breadboard", a hardware design contest and "Bulls and Bears", the virtual stock market. Resource persons from Google, Nokia and IBM will delivering lectures on the cutting edge technology. The symposium will be inaugurated by Pratap Simha, Engineering Head, Nokia. Sudhanva, MD, Excelsoft; and S. Janardhan, Vice-President, Technology, ITC Infotech will be present.
