CHANDIGARH: Samsung would invest Rs. 85 crores to implement its various projects in Haryana by the year 2010, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday. He was inaugurating the Samsung Telecommunications Mobile Phone Project at the Industrial Model Township in Manesar. Thanking the Korean giant for investing in Haryana, he said due to steps taken by his regime to strengthen the infrastructure, proposals for about Rs.1,000 crores had been received. Also, 11 special economic zones were being set up with the approval of the Central Government. He said the State Government would provide assistance in case the company decided to expand its unit in Haryana. Mr. Hooda said that 3,177 acres in the IMT Manesar were being developed in four phases out of which 600 acres had been allotted to Maruti Udyog Limited for setting up a diesel engine unit. About 900 acres were being acquired in view of the growing demand of the entrepreneurs.
