Permission to be sought for SETWIN centres in districts

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The third managing committee of the Society for Employment Promotion and Training (SETWIN), which met here on Tuesday, has decided to write to the Government to start SETWIN centres in other districts and request for financial help from the Government.

According to a statement released by the SETWIN chairman M.A. Khan, the society has also decided to discontinue its website, which was hitherto run by jobschronicle.com with immediate effect.

Other decisions taken by the managing committee included creation of a manpower cell to coordinate placement activities, introduction of a uniform pattern of admissions from April 1, 2006 for all existing courses and courses to be introduced apart from evolving a consistent pattern for examinations to be held once in every three months and to finalise a regular syllabus for its hotel management courses.

The committee also decided to conduct computer courses at its centres on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., to invite applications for new franchise centres and to consider mergers of non-viable centres with nearby centres and also to open a new centre at Ramkote.

Long-serving staff and those involved in CBCID cases would be transferred while new diploma courses in office management and jewel technology would be introduced at franchise centres, Mr. Khan added.
