BANGALORE: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy was allegedly murdered at his house in Yeshwantpur police station limits on Tuesday night. Police said the incident occurred around 7.30 p.m. at the house of Manoj Kumar, a panipuri vendor, on 1st Main Road, Mathikere. Kumar's former employee Mahadeva barged into Kumar's house when his wife Kiran and son Rahul were at home. He allegedly slit Rahul's throat with a knife and stabbed Kiran in the abdomen and ran away. The two were rushed to a private hospital and Rahul was declared dead on arrival. Kiran is said to be out of danger. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) P. Muniswamy said the police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack. As Kumar and his family members are still under a shock, the police have not been able to question them, he said. A special team has been formed to apprehend Mahadeva, who is at large, he said. The Yeshwanthapur police have registered a case.
Mobile phones recovered
The Basavanagudi police have arrested one person on charges of theft and recovered from him 13 mobile phone handsets. Police gave the name of the accused as Suresh Singh (25) and said two of his associates are still at large. The accused had allegedly stolen the handsets after breaking open the doors of a mobile phone shop in HAL Police Station limits three months ago.
Run over
Two youngsters were run over by a train in Channapatna Police station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Saturday. Police gave the name of the deceased as Prashanth Kumar (27) and Rangaswamy (18), residents of Malavalli. According to police, the youth had alighted from a jeep near Kengal and went near the railway track to answer nature's call when they were run over by the train.
Woman robbed
Miscreants waylaid a woman and snatched her laptop at knifepoint in Jeevanbimanagar police station limits on Monday night. According to police, Janaki, working with a software company in Electronics City, was walking towards her house at around 9.30 pm. The miscreants, who came in a car, waylaid her and snatched the computer worth Rs. 40,000, police said. The Jeevanbimanagar police have registered a case.
Killed
One person was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends after a quarrel over money in Doddaballapura police station limits on Monday night. Police gave the name of the deceased Shashikumar (40), resident of Byashettihalli, police said.
