Nagaraj, Rakshan set up RWF's win

Bangalore : M. Nagaraj (four for 24) and Rakshan Rai (44) set up Rail Wheel Factory's (RWF) nine-wicket victory over MICO SC in a KSCA Group II, first division league match here recently. MICO mustered 115 and RWF won in 17 overs.

Group II: first division: MICO SC 115 in 36.1 overs (M. Nagaraj four for 24) lost to RWF 118 for one in 17 overs (Rakshan Rai 44).

Air India 221 for seven in 60 overs (R. Sanil 71, S. Kawle 48, Mahesh four for 78) drew with Vijaya Bank 130 for six in 19 overs (B.A. Vinay 53 n.o., R. Rathee five for 53).

Group II: second division: HAL 342 for eight in 50 overs (C.N. Gajendra 124, B.K. Kumar 59, Ramesh 41) bt BEML 236 for nine in 50 overs (Srinivas 62, B.S. Ragotham 46, Mahesh Kumar five for 39).

BMTC SC 170 in 41.4 overs (Lakshman 62 n.o.) lost to BEML Rail Coach 172 for five in 39.5 overs (Nanda Kumar 59 n.o., A. Manohar 53 n.o., Narayana 47, S. Lakshman four for 37).

ISAC 245 in 49.4 overs (Satish 64, Harish 53, Sreedhar Murthy four for 53) bt LRDE 62 in 21 overs (B. Kumar seven for 20).

CIL SC 99 in 21.4 overs (Sheshachala four for 20) lost to MPM CC 102 for four in 14.4 overs.

Four-wkt. win for RNSIT

An unbeaten 89 by Manish went in vain as BMS College of Engineering lost to R.N.S. Institute of Technology by four wickets in the Dr. M.V. Jayaraman memorial inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

In another match, the host M.V.J. College of Engineering defeated Acharya Institute of Technology by 83 runs. Chetan Kumar slammed an unbeaten 76 and later took three wickets for 13 runs for MVJCE.

The scores: BMSCE 175 for three in 27 overs (Manish 89 n.o., Kiran 42 ) lost to RNSIT 197 for six in 26.4 overs (Sandeep 70, Nikhil 43).

MVJCE 231 for five in 28 overs (Chetan Kumar 76 n.o., V.K.Narendra 52) beat Acharya Institute of Technology 148 in 24.1 overs (Abhishek 40).

Cricket tournament

S.J.B. Institute of Technology will conduct the South Zone inter-zonal cricket tournament for colleges affiliated to Visweswaraya University of Technology here on Thursday. Mr. Ram Prasad, president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association will inaugurate the championship.

AOL bags throwball title

AOL defeated Cognizant 25-16, 25-21 and bagged the title in Genie inter-corporate throwball championship here recently. Earlier in the semifinals, AOL ousted Accenture 25-12, 25-20 and Cognizant beat ICICI Outsource 25-23, 27-26.
