Ombudsman visits brick kilns

KOCHI: Ombudsman for Local Bodies T.K. Chandrasekhara Das on Wednesday visited Sreemoolanagaram panchayat to inspect the illegal brick kilns functioning in the panchayat.

The visit was disrupted due to non-cooperation of the panchayat officials, environmental activist S. Seetharamanthe, who had filed a complaint before the Ombudsman regarding the functioning of the brick kilns, said. He said the Ombudsman was shown some kilns where no activity was taking place.
