Seven hurt in cylinder explosion

BANGALORE: Seven members of a family sustained burns in an explosion caused by gas leak from a cooking gas cylinder in their house in Hebbugodi police station limits in the early hours of Wednesday. The police said the incident occurred around 5.30 a.m. at the house of Basha, a painter, in Subashnagar when he switched on the light in the kitchen.

Basha, his wife Mumtaz Begum, and their five children sustained burns. They were rushed to Victoria Hospital and all of them were said to be out of danger.

The police said the house was damaged in the explosion. The Hebbugodi police have registered a case.
