Film actress murdered

BANGALORE: A 43-year-old Kannada film actress was found murdered at her house in Subramanyapura police station limits on Wednesday evening.

The police said the victim, Jyothi, had played minor roles in Kannada films. A mother of two, Jyothi was a resident of Konanakunte. The police said the murder came to light around 5 p.m. when Jyothi's daughter Shilpa returned home from work. She found her mother lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen. The assailant had slit Jyothi's throat with a kitchen knife. The police suspect that some one known to Jyothi could have murdered her. Some cigarette stubs were found in the living room of the house. The Subramanyapura police have registered a case.
