dated March 10, 1956: Joint venture with Fox

An agreement has been reached in New York between representatives of Mr. S.S. Vasan and 20th Century Fox under which the two will co-operate to produce a technicolour film in Cinemascope in India. Cinemascope is a wide vision process developed and owned by Fox. The film will be shot against the beautiful backgrounds of Travancore and Mysore and will have a social theme. Two separate versions will be made and with two different casts, one for the domestic market and the other for the international market. The project will be jointly financed by Mr. Vasan and Fox and the latter will undertake the film's distribution overseas.
